Date:
Circa mid-1950s
Maker:
Ernie Pauline Tillman, Magnolia Springs, Alabama
Size:
67" x 83"
Description:
This is my favorite heirloom quilt. It was made by my paternal grandmother. This is a special pattern. Of all the breeches (britches) quilts I've searched on the Internet, this is the only one I have come across that has a circle in the middle; all others have a square. I think this makes the breeches more real looking. It has cotton batting and is hand-quilted in a rainbow pattern.
