Kit Baby Quilt

Circa 1955

Maker:
Elizabeth Delegal, Ft. Lauderdale, Alabama
Elizabeth said that her mother-in-law, Virgie Delegal, did some of the quilting, but the stitches were so large, that she pulled them out and restitched them herself.  She never told Ms. Virgie.

Size:
33" x 51"

Description:
This hand-quilted kit baby quilt was made by my mother-in-law for her first-born child, my husband.  It is a printed top with cotton batting.  The center shows a faded boy and girl, with other pictures of a sleeping baby, chicken, lamb, boy, and bunny.  The stitching is very intricate and detailed.  Well done.
